Introduction

WAG  is an autonomous, non–profit, non-governmental organization established under Society Registration Act of Nepal in 2001. It is also affiliated with Social Welfare Council. WAG is a group of experts specialized in biodiversity conservation, laws and scientists. The main objective is to support for wildlife protection.


Objectives

  • Monitor illegal trade on wildlife and their products.
  • Animal Welfare Program for captive animals.
  • Advocacy and sensitization for wildlife protection.
  • Support to develop law and policy for biodiversity conservation.

Why WAG?

The illegal trade in wildlife and its products continues to flourish despite several laws in the world. Laws only do not bring down the incidence of such crime in society, the poaching of wildlife, uprooting of plants and their subsequent trade has to be dealt with in the field. more...
